Did you know that a majority of the products we as humans buy are tested on animals first? Skin care products, injections, even the medicine that is prescribed for us go through a process that involves animal testing. There are several significant reasons why I personally strongly disagree with animal testing and think they should be banned. This essay will focus on why it shouldn’t be allowed.
The most notable reason why I do not support animal testing is because of animal cruelty. Animals often get kidnapped from their own habitat and put in these chambers where the process would usually begin in. Testing causes them pain, suffering, and even trauma. There are questions we need to ask as humans why does this keep happening. It is just un-ethical to use animals as a source of testing.
Another reason why I am against the opinion that animal testing should be banned is because of the unreliable results the factories may achieve. Why did we start using animals as a form of testing you may ask? It’s because of the harm it may cause humans if the tests came back as unreliable. Both animals and humans have significant differences regarding biology. This makes the test results unknown if it will harm us humans or not. This can lead to many false results regarding humans. If it works on humans doesn’t mean it would work on humans.
Finally, The last reason why I am not convinced that animal testing should be allowed is the availability and advancements of modern day technology. We live in the future we never expected. Advances in technology and computers made our lives way easier than how it was many decades ago. This provides a unlimited source for cruelty-free methods regarding putting the lives of animals and humans at risk. These tests could and would be more accurate and beneficial for a healthier life for us and for the animals.
This concludes why I think putting the lives of animals at risk by testing them should be stopped. It’s not worth the risk when we have many different solutions. In my opinion with the advancements we have in the 21st century, We should find more ways for testing products. It’s time for us as humans to stand up for what’s right and stop animal cruelty.
