For Part 1, answer each question with approximately one paragraph each.
Part 1
Think about Levin’s and Joyce’s articles and then answer the following questions. There is no right or wrong answer to them. I will be looking closely at your explanations when I evaluate each answer. Try to use what we have learned about the concepts of argument – claim, reasons, evidence, opposing viewpoints, logos, ethos, pathos – to explain how you made your choices. If you use any material from our class use of AI to understand the use of our argument concepts in the essay, be sure to cite it. Look to the MLA guidelines for citing AI on Brightspace.
1. Identify what you think is the strongest point in each essay and explain why you think each is the strongest in the essay. Is Levin’s strongest point better than Joyce’s? Explain why.
2.Identify what you think is the weakest point in each essay and explain why you think each is weak. Is Levin’s weakest point weaker than Joyce’s? Explain why.
3. Discuss how each author addressed the opposing view. Who do you think did better when treating the opposing view? Why?
4. Find a supporting point that you disagree with in each essay. Explain why you disagree.
5. Which article do you think is more persuasive? Why?
Part 2
Write an argument of your own about teens and social media using our basic model of argument. Do not use ChatGPT or any other AI program to draft this essay.
6. Ask an issue question and answer it with your claim.
7. Provide at least one reason in support of your claim. Connect the claim with the reason with the word “because” – Claim + because+ reason – to make a logical and grammatical sentence.
8. Provide at least one piece of evidence to support your reasoning
9. Address the opposing view, describing it and answering it.
10. Use MLA Format and good grammar
