Health and Medicine-demonstrate critical evaluation of the evidence base.

John is 56 and has had Parkinsons since he was 52. Before John was diagnosed he met the physical activity guidelines and used to play semi-professional football.

He has reduced his activity since his diagnosis and mainly just walks the dog so is unsure what he is still able to do. John is stage 3 of the Hoehn and Yahr Staging Scale. He is on Levodopa but feels it might be wearing off and has side effects from this drug. John would like to get back into activity and has felt socially isolated since his diagnosis. John lives with his wife, and his kids have both left home.

He works part time in an office job, can still drive and lives in and area with good transport connections and access to facilities. You are responsible for developing an appropriate, evidence-based exercise prescription for John. This should take into account your knowledge of exercise prescription from this course, Parkinsons specific considerations and Johns background.

It should also demonstrate critical evaluation of the evidence base. Please give a presentation (lasting no more than 10 minutes) on your approach to creating an exercise programme for John and what the plan would look like.
