1. Abstract
The first heading that you must write after the title page is abstract. It is a summary
of your paper that does not exceed the 300-word limit. With the help of the abstract
section, people can read a brief description of your research. They can discover a
reviewed problem, learn more about analyses conducted, read about findings and
outcomes. It is recommended to write it after finishing a paper.
Writing the abstract last, you will be able to create a perfect summary of your
research.
2. Introduction
In the first section of a capstone, you have to hook the reader’s attention and
present a question.
9
Feel free to write about the main topic in more detail and tell why it is important to
research it. Also, you
can specify the question on what you want to find an answer to. In this section, you
must write a capstone statement. The introduction should also include the literature
review to tell readers about already conducted studies on the reviewed problem.
This section should include:
Capstone statement
Presenting problem
Why is it important?
Goals of the project
3 Literature Review Template
The literature review presents existing research on the problem/topic. There are
different approaches to
organizing your literature review. Select one of the below methods:
Chronological: The simplest approach is to trace the development of the topic
over time, which helps
familiarize the audience with the topic (for instance if you are introducing something
that is not
commonly known in your field). If you choose this strategy, be careful to avoid
simply listing and
summarizing sources in order. Try to analyze the patterns, turning points, and key
debates that have
shaped the direction of the field. Give your interpretation of how and why certain
developments.
Thematic: If you have found some recurring central themes that you will continue
working with
Throughout your piece, you can organize your literature review into subsections that
address various aspects of the topic. For example, if you are reviewing literature
about women and religion, key themes can include the role of women in churches
and the religious attitude towards women.
If you draw your sources from different disciplines or fields that use a variety of
research methods, you can compare the results and conclusions that emerge from
different
approaches. For example:
o Qualitative versus quantitative research
10
o Empirical versus theoretical scholarship
o Divide the research by sociological, historical, or cultural sources
Theoretical: In many humanities articles, the literature review is the foundation for
the
theoretical framework. You can use it to discuss various theories, models, and definitions of key concepts. You can argue for the relevance of a specific theoretical approach or
combine various theorical concepts to create a framework for your research.
4 Methodology
This section should include:
Ways of data collection. The main ways of data collection will be based on the
literature review. If your choice requires eliciting information from human
informants, you must have an accepted application from the Institutional Review
Board (IRB) at Long Island University. The process to secure IRB approval will be
presented in your Research class.
Consider the following outline:
Methods
1. Methodologies applied
2. Ways of data collection
5. Results
1. Findings
2. Summarized outcome
6. Discussion
1. What do the results mean?
2. How do they correlate with previous findings?
3. Possible limitations that could affect the results
7. Conclusion
1. Thesis statement
2. Outcomes supported by evidence
3. Is there further research needed?

8. References
5. Findings
This section should include a summary of your findings. You may include charts and
graphs in this
section.
6. Discussion
This section should include:
What do the results mean?
How do they correlate with previous findings?
Possible limitations that could affect the results.
7. Conclusion
This section should include:
Capstone statement (refer to the introduction). Is it supported by the evidence?
Is there further research needed?

Time Management
Students are encouraged to set priorities for successful completion of the capstone
project. Preparations include: a serious plan for time management, setting up
specific time specific goals for completing the different components of the project,
the project cannot be completed in one semester, hence start right away, select
topics that are manageable, consult with your advisor/mentor as often as
necessary, set up a schedule for achievable readings and keep notes on the
material, consider that someone has to read your work and will be mindful of
grammar and spelling.
these were the comments from the last paper please consider them
Page 2: include an abstract.
Page 5: Cite recent studies.
Pages 8&9: who conducted the interviews? If the interviews were conducted by you, you must be approved by the IRB. The results cannot be used in the capstone. As you know IRB regulations are very strict and LIU will not allow non compliance.
The discussion starting on page 8 and ending on page12 has to be rewritten with new sources coming from secondary data. As it stands this capstone will not pass.
i did the first part and these were the comments therefore use the paper i started to continue and add 6 pages to it
